“This is a pure red sable brush which has more spring and is more flexible then softer hairs such as squirrel. The drawback is that it is not as soft and dose not hold as much paint.
Due to the stiffness of the red sable bristle it can be useful when more snap is desired (for example when painting letter styles such as script) or if the surface requires a stiffer more durable brush.
Red sable is also used for lettering and design/illustration work on paper with water based inks or paints.”
