Mystic design and color theories from 1915 by the signwriting master Frank Atkinson served as a guide on this one. So each color ended up being blended up special (plus a little extra for the passenger side ;) )
I am not sure if the colors are exactly the way they should be but it is pleasing to the eye. The red that he called for was called Tuscan red which I checked up on and it is the color of old Pennsylvania railroad trains! kinda cool, the rest of the colors are various shades of olive green and buff.

Here is a Sign I made for the Childrens Rockabilly clothing brand Rockefella! they requested a Sign painted to look old for use at fashion conventions. The layout and design was provided for me altough I favored my own lettering over the original font.
After I painted it all up the surface was heavily distressed and then hit it with my aging varnish mixed to matte to diffuse direct lighting.
Hope all the kid rockers dig it!

Signs for Swahili Bob’s new location

This is a bit dated I know but for those who haven’t heard my friends at Swahili Bob’s Tattoo and Piercing moved to their new location

And although they where happy to bring along the original sign I made them way way back in 2005 (my first Stockholm sign job!) The new location needed more, so..

Both windows where painted with the new logo (a nice design by Papa Bear) and I also made up a Blingin’ Southside Minneapolis/Vandervaartian style Sandwich board for ‘em !

New storefront sign and new opening hours

Hello!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the new opening hours will be from 12:00 – 20:00 on Thursdays

On other days If I am not in the store I will be close by painting at Motorbörsgaraget which is located close by on Arenavägen 65, across from Globen.

So if you need something from the store on a day other then Thursday, contact me by phone or mail and I can come open the store for you !

Also here is the new sign I painted on the storefront, it is inspired by Route 66 motel sign trends of the early to mid fifties. The store was painted up by our friends at Retro Måleri. The great faux stucco wall surfacing is the work of our local master of furniture and interior restoration Christian Stadius.

The texture of the wall is quite rough so I used a Squirrel & Ox mix, Mack Series 389 quill. The softness of the brown Squirrel hair carries the paint well and Ox hair is stiff and springy so you can dig into the surface.

Here is a logo I designed for Annika Lindström. Annika is a master seamstress, is a specialist in mending vintage denim and also produces her own label, Blackboard. Check out her clothing or contact her for alterations or other services via blackboardlabel.com

The logo is brushed freehand in a one stroke casual with a relief drop shadow. The colors have then been corrected for print.

Retro Måleri now have a 2nd Volvo Duett and of course I had the job to letter to match the first!

I did the painting at my vehical painting venue motorbörsgaraget. The garage is a great place to work, being surrounded by so many classic cars and rods makes the ideal working climate!

Hot Rod High

Only in Sweden…. a high school that offers a Speed Shop Class !!!!
Believe it or not under the course of a year students enrolled in the Tumba Gymnasium are able to learn how to build Hot Rods in this fully furnished metal shop.

If you would like to see the school Speed Shop, their rat rod as well as lots of hot rods and customs, the class is hosting a mini car show February 28th.. (info on the meet here)

Shop teacher and wishbones CC member Christer Vestergren asked me a while back if I could come in and demonstrate some painting techniques for his class. The task was to letter the schools logo on their latest project, a dropped rat rod pick-up!

Buy for more sell for less (in progress)

I am working now on lettering a roadster for motorbörs garaget over by Globen. The owner had me work from an old photo of a lettering job he saw in the states, I copied the lettering and layout as best I could from that and changed the business to his. The lettering is by the way kind strange some of the letters where done as Poster Roman and others in Plain Egyptian, got them fairly close except they did end up heavier.

I will be back over there on Friday to paint more letters shadows pinstripes and pinups! So..there will be more updates !
