Flying Dog

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Here is a jacket I painted recently, the design is inspired from WWII nose art and those old bulldog tattoos. I keep the colors toned down and gave it a aged matte clear coat and look forward to seeing it after some use when the cracks set in…dscf2884

Sneaky Bar

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Here are some flasks that I painted, they have been on display at the last Lowbrow party. I found the old suitcase for them at a junk shop right before the show, it was perfect. I think it is a nice set.

Trigger Happy

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Here is my latest Nose Art style jacket. the pin-up is inspired from a found image from WW2 jacket and a similar from a WW2 planes nose art. The machine gun and lettering I came up with myself. The letterstyle used is my own script but it is modified to resemble a 1930’s speedball text called “personality script”
As usual the fades are all brush blended wet-to-wet rather then airbrushed for durabilities sake.

“In keeping an aesthetic profile that spans the late 19th Century up until the end of the 1950?s, the Kittens maintain the innocent allure of glamour girls, cheesecake queens and pin-ups of yesteryear, and keep the contemporary fleshmarket sleeze firmly at bay. “

    NYC police jacket

electriceye2.jpgI just got done painting up this jacket, the eyeball I painted a while back and then we decided to add some stripes. the leather on the arms was all worn out so I primed with clear to keep the 1shot from sucking in, and it actually worked alright! Electric eye with stripes
