Studio Moving

The studio is moving from Hammarbysjöstad now, as Motorbörsgaraget is to be moved to a non public location until a new showroom is found.

Both my studio services and Motorbörsgaraget’s auto sales will continue..

I am looking froward to dusting off the old travel tent and taking on traveling work over the summer!

Classic Swedish bicycle frame pinstriping

I pinstriped this frame as a demo while teaching the yearly pinstripe course at Lackskolan a High School Automotive painting program in Falun Sweden. The students had renovated and sprayed the fram gloss black and I layed some pinstriping inspired by traditional Swedish bicycle factory pinstriping from the 1940′s ..

Mooneyes Bike Show Prize 2012

I had a great time hanging out at this years Mooneyes Bike Show painting the “Best in Show” prize. The Painted cap was Awarded to Håkan Lindberg for bringing his beautiful flaked out panhead chopper, check it out !

Getting ready now for the yearly Wheels boat cruise .. This year I will be set up on the lower deck finishing up a heavy lettering job on a ’56 Chevy Gasser. Also the 2012 Wheels Nationals T-Shirts that I designed will be on sale for the first time!

Brodals Cafe – Willerby Caravan 59

Here is a lettering and pinstripe job that I did for customer Willy Kierdorf. The teardrop shaped trailer matches Willy’s Hot Rod which although is not pictured here, you may recall seeing on the cover of Swedish magazine Gasoline (back issues are available on the Sivletto Webshop )

Though painted to look like a Willerby Built trailer, the truth is that it is actually a custom build, completely hand fabricated right down to the door hinges ! I could go on and on about the craftsmanship on this but I will leave that for the magazines to report on.

As for my hand in the deal I laid stripes on the 110 trunk louvers as well as a bit here and there to match the pinstripes that sit on the rod. As for the Brodals Cafe design, this is dedication to the Cafe that Willy’s folks owned and ran during the 1960′s.

Modeling for the design is none other then the lovely Fraulein Frauke ! If you are in the Stockholm area ,and haven’t been already, don’t miss the Burlesque club that she runs together with pro Pin Up photographer John Paul Bichard…. ‘Fröken Frauke presents’, go and visit her site for more info !

Retro Måleri’s 1948 Chevy Panel Truck

This is the 3rd work truck I have lettered for the Stockholm based painting company RETRO MÅLERI. As with the other two vehicles they brush painted the truck by hand, this time with an industrial tractor paint. The tan and ivory colors are matched to Swedish color tabs from the 1940′s.

Other then painting their trucks Retro Målari provides a full range or painting and wall-covering services. And of course they do specialize in retro styles, so they are pros when it comes to period correct colors and wallpapers.

Also as seens on the truck Skyltmålning (sign painting) is now a added to the list of services, as we will be focusing on collaborating more in the future and taking on larger projects.

Palookaville Bass

Full brush painted and Pinstriped Stand up Bass for Ubbe. The wooden body got a good rub down then a brush blended fade (no spray guns here) from antique green to polar white and some mid fifties style voodoo pinstripe.. After that the whole thing got a very flat yellowed patina finish. Lookin’ old and dusty but it’s all brand new !

Land Inn Motel Sign

Last week I was out to the Land Inn Motel to letter their new custom shop truck.. (pics of that soon)…And, while I was thereI got a chance to see the sign in use for the first time since I painted it back in the shop.

It was looking really good there, those guys did a killer job on the construction and the location and placing is perfect! A real classic roadside sign….

Dickies x Starter (x Von Sven)

Here’s a hat that Dickies Europe made a while back using the same lettering from their catalog that I did. The model is called “Pantego”.

The text is nicely raised and embroidered on a starter brand snap back adjustable cap. I guess they came out in the spring but I somehow missed it .. well anyway it’s new to me .. here it is the Dickies x Starter ( and unofficially x Von Sven ) hat !

Unionville Katarina Bangatan 69 design

A while back I painted a Unionville text and the store address Katarina Bangata 69 on this old jacket. Now the same design has been printed in-house at the shop and is available printed on either tote bags or T-Shirts. As you can see in the last few photos.. Unionville only uses the best ink and quality fabrics so after some good use the designs wear in real nice !

Here’s a Sign I did a while back for the nice folks over at Let’s Buzz Tattoo.

I got free hands to design a little shop sign for them in a 1930′s style with the the slogan “Make your mama proud”, not a bad assignment

Yamaha Thumper

Jakob from Wheels magazine stopped by yesterday for some brush work to top off is custom built Yamaha Thumper.

The bike had already been painted red with white scallops and outlined in black. All that was needed was some lettering and stripe work to top it off.. After some pondering and several good/bad ideas, we almost went with my suggestion Gold lettering .. until Jakob with coffee in hand saw the light and we realized the lettering should, of course be silver!

And so it was, my groggy Sunday mind was saved .. can’t all my customers be graphic designers ??
