Here are some photos from a scallop job I did ‘a while back  it was featured as a step by step in the latest issue of  Gasoline Magazine (Sweden)

As explained in the article the scallops where painted entirely by brush.

Some other New products from the VSKD artstore used where :

Owatrol Oil -The trick for getting the polar white 1 shot to fill the scallops so well with only one coating was by adding Owatrol Oil this new product not only slows the dying time of one shot lettering enamels it also enhances the flow and helps the covering ability! as you can see it the close up shots here the result is an almost glass like finish virtually free of brush strokes !
The Edge Pinstriping tape – Used for masking tight turns and leaving a razor sharp edge when removed.

Green abrasive pads – Good for lightly scuffing the area to be painted.

Foam Brushes -used to paint the fill of the scallops.

The other day took a trip to letter up the Dog Hill Customs Garage  paint on this step side Chevy. Some simple lettering was added on the doors in semi flat ( to match the trucks finish)  and striping in white was added to accent the two tone paint job.

I had a blast at Lead Kings CC’s annual party, there was a good turn out of cars and the crowd was in good form. luckily I got set up with a spot on a platform so between that and the neighboring lowbrow mag crew’s diversive antics, I managed to navigate some clean lines amidst the party zone.

The next day I started on the Rimfrost funnycar adding a ray gun wielding space viking and shading on the hologram text. Next time I will finish the viking and  add an outline to the letters as well as highlights on the shades as well as some other goodies. Although this car has been repainted it is a classic Swedish funnycar  with a lot of history and it is a real  honor to get to letter it, and help to preserve the nostalgic style of funnycar graphics in drag racing of today.

This is defiantly a one of a kind Pinstripe here.

I got the job to paint a Chief on the trunk of a Pontiac and at first I wanted to make it Chief Pontiac himself, but after some research I couldn’t find any pictures of him so it ended up being more of a loose interpretation of a plains indian with headress and western shirt, which for the record is more of 1800′s style for the Ottawa But made for a much nicer design with all the radiating feathers. ( Pontiac having lived in the 1700′s probably would have been sporting a headband with some feathers)

Chief Pontiac is known for his part in starting  a war with the British when he lead an attack on Fort Detroit in 1763.

also the pontiac V shaped logo is actually a stylized arrowhead design..

At the Bilsport Custom Motor show I joined Kenth from The Land Inn motel and did some live pinstriping on a nice little surfboard to match his entry in the show, his classy custom ’63 Ford Galaxie Country Squire!









Also got to lay some lines on this very cool Shovelhead..



And a little job for the owner wild custom Oldsmobile rocket 88.

The 100 year anniversary emblem from this 2003 Harley Davidson tank, got replaced with my hand painted version, metallics where used in order to match the stock paint and graphics. (a cool detail they did on this model is the silver center band is printed with a pattern of tiny, tiny Harley Davidson text, fancy!)

The layout of these stripes was designed by the owner Ted who has the advertising company fart & flakt

I was impressed by the effectiveness of the design, it really suits the cars lines as well as giving a longer and lower look! not bad..
