The studio is moving from Hammarbysjöstad now, as Motorbörsgaraget is to be moved to a non public location until a new showroom is found.

Both my studio services and Motorbörsgaraget’s auto sales will continue..

Hello summertime, car shows and travels !

I pinstriped this frame as a demo while teaching the yearly pinstripe course at  Lackskolan a High School Automotive painting program in Falun Sweden. The students had renovated and sprayed the fram gloss black and I layed some pinstriping inspired by traditional Swedish bicycle factory pinstriping from the 1940′s ..

I had a great time hanging out at this years Mooneyes Bike Show painting the “Best in Show” prize. The Painted cap was Awarded to Håkan Lindberg for bringing his beautiful flaked out panhead chopper, check it out !

Getting ready now for the yearly Wheels boat cruise .. This year I will be set up on the lower deck finishing up a heavy lettering  job on  a ’56 Chevy Gasser. Also the 2012 Wheels Nationals T-Shirts that I designed will be on sale for the first time!

And the T-Shirt Design …

Here is a lettering and pinstripe job that I did for customer Willy Kierdorf. The teardrop shaped trailer matches Willy’s Hot Rod which although is not pictured here, you may recall seeing on the cover of Swedish magazine Gasoline (back issues are available on the Sivletto Webshop )

Though painted to look like a Willerby Built trailer, the truth is that it is actually a custom build, completely hand fabricated right down to the door hinges ! I could go on and on about the craftsmanship on this but I will leave that for the magazines to report on.

As for my hand in the deal I laid stripes on the 110 trunk louvers as well as a bit here and there to match the pinstripes that sit on the rod. As for the Brodals Cafe design, this is dedication to the Cafe that Willy’s folks owned and ran during the 1960′s.

Modeling for the design is none other then the lovely Fraulein Frauke ! If you are in the Stockholm area ,and haven’t been already, don’t miss the Burlesque club that she runs together with pro Pin Up photographer John Paul Bichard…. ‘Fröken Frauke presents’, go and visit her site for more info !

This is the 3rd work truck I have lettered for the Stockholm based  painting company RETRO MÅLERI. As with the other two vehicles they brush painted the truck by hand, this time with an industrial tractor paint. The tan and ivory colors are matched to Swedish color tabs from the 1940′s.

Other then painting their trucks Retro Målari provides a full range or painting and wall-covering services. And of course they do specialize in retro styles, so they are pros when it comes to period correct colors and wallpapers.

Also as seens on the truck Skyltmålning (sign painting) is now a added to the list of services, as we will be focusing on collaborating more in the future and taking on larger projects.

Full brush painted and Pinstriped Stand up Bass for Ubbe. The wooden body got a good rub down then a brush blended fade (no spray guns here)  from antique green to polar white and some mid fifties style voodoo pinstripe.. After that the whole thing got a very flat yellowed patina finish. Lookin’  old and dusty but it’s all brand new !
